Anita Shah has been associated with Mahatma Gandhi International School, Ahmedabad, since 2004 and started as class initiator and Primary Coordinator for Cambridge International at MGIS. Today she is the IB Career-related Program (IBCP) Coordinator, Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and Reflective Project (RP) Coordinator in the Diploma Programme, as well as a teacher trainer for MGIS.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, she has a Teacher Training diploma from Eklavya Institute of Teacher Training. She had the honour of working as an Assistant Coach for the TfU course “Teaching for Understanding”, an integral part of Project Zero at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (2008-09). It develops a deeper understanding of how to create contextual learning experiences which engage students in meaningful, lasting ways, creating life-long learners. She has initiated projects such as ‘Making a Calendar’, ‘Making a Diary about my City’, and ‘Conducting an E-waste Campaign for my School Community’, which are now used as models to showcase the GRL (Generated Resource Learning) pedagogy. She has been awarded a gold leaf as a ‘Green teacher’ by Center for Environment Education (CEE).

As Teacher Trainer for Generated Resource Learning (GRL) and Experiential Learning (EL), she has been one of the lead trainers of the Co-Creative Experiential Learning team for CBSE schools, as well as Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools (KVS). She co-facilitated teacher training workshops and conducted webinars with teachers across India for EMRS (Eklavya Model Residential Schools) in collaboration with TATA trust and TISS, on behalf of the Tribal Education ministry.
