Dr. Priyanka Goswami
Dr Priyanka Goswami is a senior faculty associated with MGIS from last 12 years as the Mathematics, Physics, and BTEC IT programming initiator in IBDP and MYP, and also coordinates the K-12 coding program in school. She enjoys working with children and giving them the opportunity to be more curious and help them to reach their true potential. Her experience of working with children and enhancing their skills started since her own childhood days when she worked as a guide captain in Scouts and Guides.
She is the examination officer for Cambridge admission assessment pre-university tests and also conducts the Mathematics and Computing contests of University of Waterloo, Canada. She has attended many IB and Cambridge professional development workshops like Mathematics HL, MYP mathematics, and IGCSE Physics. She gravitated towards teaching after the birth of her first child. For the past fifteen years, she has been engaged in teaching Physics, Mathematics, and Statistics to Cambridge International Examination and IB students in Ahmedabad.
Her formal education includes a PhD in Physics, and Postdoctoral Fellowships at the University of Maryland, USA, and Max-Planck Institute, Germany, as well as a visiting scientist position at the CNRS, Observatoire de la Cote d’Azur, Nice, France. She has published a number of papers in international journals and conference proceedings.
Her Star Projects include:
Making hologram with grade 9 students while initiating light in physics as a link to their class project. It was a unique and visually beautiful project, students were completely engaged and enthusiastic in learning and showing the concepts by making working models.
Coding for K-12: Made many different games and puzzles with the students and taught them how to code with different software, alongside teaching programming to older students.
